Just posted this in other thread, but I've given up on Bryce winning the H-award. While that would of course be preferable, I think it would be fun/funny to finish in second place yet again. The Stanford Award.

You beat me to it. Hes a terrific player. And from what Ive read a good guy to boot. I just hope Bryce gets back. Hes a joy to watch. And the best running back in college football. Barkley is more of an all-purpose guy. And we know the Voldemort voters value that over anything else......

???
I was going to reply, the season is long, there are still many games left to play, we will see.
But it turns out it would have been enough to say, the game is long, there are still many minutes left to play.
44 yards on 21 carries?
I would think he is now officially removed from contention.

All this does is make the race more even, hopefully people will keep their minds a bit more open during the final stretch. Remember the season is only 2/3 over.

Nah. Stick a fork in Barkley. In only 3 out of 8 games he's gone for more the 100 on the ground. More importantly, ESPN is loving on Josh Adams from ND. He's the guy now, with JT Barrett nipping at his heels.

So I havent seen these latest games but I think I agree with the underlying point that the preseason frontrunner often doesnt win and someone who surges late has an opportunity.
With games coming up against Wazoo, Washington and ND, at least Love will have the opportunity to make his case for any voters awake at 3 AM

Based on this Im willing to bet that tOSU would beat Akron head to head.

NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!
2.1 ypc and a total vanishing act in 2H. From an Hypeman Award standpoint he would have been better off not playing
But the EastCoastBias media has already moved on to their new favorite and SURPRISE he plays East of the Mississippi River - J.T. Barrett. How quickly they forget his line against Oklahoma: 19/35, 183 yds (5.3 YPA), 0TD/1INT, ADJ QBR 21.5. Other than yesterday that's the only other good team the Schmuckeyes have played this year
Re: Barkley just won the H award -
North Woods - 10-29-2017
Last week's (10/22) H award odds:
Barkley 4/7; Love 2/1; Barrett & Mayfield 10-1; Rudolph 20/1
Current (10/29) odds:
Saquon 2/3; Bryce 7/2; JT 4/1; Baker 8/1; Josh 10/1; Lamar 25/1; Mason 30/1
So: 2.1 YPC and a loss hurt Barkley but only slightly; Love's injury hurt though he's still #2; Barrett rightly rewarded for big win; Adams now in the picture; like the field overall is gaining on the favorites.
Apart from continued surprise at Barkley's indestructibility the updates seem directionally reasonable overall. Still a lot of football to be played by all the contenders though.

Saquon Barkley:Â 23rd in total rushing yards, 67th in yards per attempt; 2nd all purpose yds (1st per game)
Bryce Love: 1st in total rushing yards, 2nd in yards per attempt; 4th all purpose yds (2nd per game)
