Is unreal.

Yeah, just when I was about to post that I was surprised to see Arizona winning despite Tate being bottled up, he pulls a Love and goes 82 yards.

Love would have a scored a touchdown on that 82 yard run. Just saying.

But would he throw for 180 in a half as well?
Re: Khalil Tate -

ESPN posted an amazing stat: over the last 10 seasons, 7 players have four 70+ yard runs in the same season, Khalil Tate has done it in the span of the last four games.
Re: Khalil Tate -

Then again, he just coughed up the ball basically on his own. Plus skinny running QBs always make me nervous, such injury risks...

Great players make mistakes. The fumble was on him, but the interception wasnt.

Tate is the type of QB who can beat WSU. Chryst is not that kind of QB, Costello is much closer.
Re: Khalil Tate -

Playing Chryst against WSU not only makes a loss more likely but it also risks alienating portions of the team and large swaths of the fan base.

See, here's the thing, Chryst manifestly is the type of QB that can beat WSU. If he plays as well against them as he did against Oregon and Utah we'd definitely have a chance. He's just
also the type of QB that can lose to Oregon State.
Costello is probably a QB that can beat WSU. He's probably not a QB that can lose to Oregon state. We just haven't seen enough of him to know.

Stupac, can you post more on you logic for how KC is the type of QB who can beat WSU? Â
Separately does anyone know if any of our three quarterbacks have ever played in snow??

Rich Rod may have a somewhat sordid past but he's winning, has a sense of humor, is not stone slab on the sidelines and seems to have a personality unlike a couple of blank walls that I won't mention.
Right now he's the PAC 12 COTY.

Rich Rod certainly does have a personality. If you follow Arizona football, you also know that thing's haven't exactly been rosy there, on a lot of fronts. There are many that would say Rich Rod also has a sordid present. However, lack of any viable alternative does trump a lot of other issues, at least at the AD level. If he wins on top of that, it just makes everything so much easier.

I suppose this is semantics but it hinges on the word "can". If Chryst plays like he did against Oregon (where he wasn't asked to do too much because of our run game, but still hit some great passes) then we'd likely win. But Chryst is ridiculously streaky, so who knows if that Chryst would show up? At this point I wouldn't bet on it and assume that we'll get "bad Chryst", but you never know! We might get "good Chryst"!
So, yeah, Chryst
can beat WSU, but I'm not confident
at all that he would.

Both excellent questions. Can't wait to hear the answer to the former beyond "if Chryst plays well" because if Costello plays well I would argue our chances of winning are at least equal. On the latter, this is where I worry about Chryst because snow/bad weather will make it harder to throw accurately and that is one of Chryst's biggest problems, as evidenced by his INTs and near INTs - not just on Thursday either.
Chryst reminds me of Rex Grossman when he was the Bears starting QB - the Bears got enough of "good Rex" to make it to the Super Bowl but then "bad Rex" showed up that day and they lost a game that "good Rex" would have won.

My problem is that I have never seen the "Good Chryst" when we needed it. We always get it when we are running well and probably would be fine with a "doesn't suck too bad Chryst". Certainly, running well can be connected to a good passing game, but from what I have seen, the running game has already done significant damage before we see "good Chryst". He has had his chances, particularly against SDSU, to take the game on his back. He hasn't yet come close to doing that.

Well, sure, that's always been part of the knock on him, most of his games have come against terrible teams, and when he plays good teams he's not particularly good. Still, the traits he shows against bad teams
could show up against good ones. He had a decent game against Utah, for example (I know they're not world-beaters but they're not a bad defense).
As I said, were I a betting man, would I bet on him having a good game against WSU? No. But it's within the realm of possibility!

True. And if (when) Shaw puts him out there, I am sure all of us hope he does. It can happen.
