Week 10 Net YPP -
stupac2 - 11-08-2017
| Team | O YPP | D YPP | Net YPP |
| UW | 6.4 | 3.71 | 2.69 |
| ND | 6.7 | 5.04 | 1.66 |
| Arizona | 7.3 | 5.9 | 1.4 |
| Stanford | 6.86 | 5.73 | 1.13 |
| USC | 6.61 | 5.59 | 1.02 |
| WSU | 5.82 | 4.86 | 0.96 |
| SDSU | 5.94 | 5.12 | 0.82 |
| Oregon | 5.88 | 5.27 | 0.61 |
| Utah | 5.77 | 5.18 | 0.59 |
| UCLA | 6.34 | 6.4 | -0.06 |
| Colorado | 5.51 | 5.97 | -0.46 |
| California | 5.08 | 5.75 | -0.67 |
| ASU | 5.46 | 6.29 | -0.83 |
| ORST | 5.31 | 6.19 | -0.88 |
| Rice | 5.46 | 6.51 | -1.05 |
And here's the evolution over time adding in this week:
All 3 of our remaining opponents have been pretty steady over the past few weeks, and unsurprisingly, by this measure, at least, the difficulty remains:
1) UW. By far the most efficient team we face all year. Easily the best defense and a pretty good offense.
2) ND. We had been neck-and-neck, but the poor showings the past two games have dragged us down. If we can revert to mid-season form for this last homestand, this will be a close game. But even if the game against WSU is our true performance level, with a couple lucky breaks and HFA we have a real chance.
3) Cal. We are quite a bit better than them no matter how you look at it.
(Sorry for this being late, although I don't think anyone really cares, it's been an... let's say "interesting" beginning of the week for me.)

Btw, if you want to feel better about the rest of our schedule:
| Team | O YPP | D YPP | Net YPP |
| Stanford (home) | 8.01 | 6.5 | 1.51 |
| UW (road) | 6.08 | 3.99 | 2.09 |
| Cal (road) | 4.58 | 5.59 | -1.01 |
| ND (road) | 6.43 | 4.84 | 1.59 |
One interesting thing about this exercise is that our defense is actually significantly better on the road, by over a yard per play. If you had our road defense and home offense you'd have a really formidable team (although when you break up stats like this you end up with weird effects, I bet we've just played better offenses at home, or had more garbage time or something.) Also kind of interesting, UW's is the only defense that
isn't better on the road, while all offenses are worse on the road (though ours is by far the biggest gap at 1.8, the next largest is Cal at 0.8). Oh, and Rice is included as a road game here, so our gap is even worse than that.
