This one's not so much interesting as just awesome. Per
Kyle Bonagura:
Quote:Love, a junior, kept himself in the  Trophy conversation by rushing for 166 yards on 30 carries and three touchdowns. He did so against a Huskies defense that had allowed only three rushing touchdowns all season, all of them 1-yard runs, and hadn't allowed any team to score more than two touchdowns in a single game.
So basically, Love doubled the number of rushing touchdowns Washington has allowed all season, and septupled the number of rushing touchdown yards allowed.

And I think they pretty much way outscored their opponents (most of them) in the 2nd half this season...

While playing on a bum ankle, Love annihilated the #9 Washington Huskies and their #6 overall rush defense, along with increasing the number of rushing TDs that UW gave up by 50%. UW had given up 2.8 ypc, Love doubled it at 5.5 ypc. Love is now at 9.0 ypc for the season, still the lead RB in the country. Noter Dame's Josh Adams is gaining 8.7 ypc...that game against ND will be...pretty big...for the Hiesman trophy.

It's kinda cute to think Bryce has a shot at anything more than second place. Remember, he is from Stanford.

He definitely has a shot, but sadly because of the WSU game (and/or the SDSU game where he got far too few carries) it'll probably require Mayfield to stumble along the way, plus excellent games in the next two.

North Woods - 11-11-2017
Ive been frustrated at the big string of Stanford players finishing second when they should have won in my 100% biased opinion. At the same time:
When were talking about whether one of our players has a chance at being named the best player in the entire country or might merely be second or third we are very lucky. Really fun to be able to watch Toby, Andrew, Christian and now Bryce. And of course while our record has been a relative liability in these campaigns (even though it shouldnt be for an individual award) the string of candidates doesnt happen without a great team and program behind these players.

And will also require that we win out. Not a lot of H-word winners from 4-loss teams
