With all of the action in other sports this weekend, we have overlooked WVB. If you blinked, you missed Stanford's match vs Colorado State yesterday. The Cardinal won 25-14, 25-15, 25-9.
They advance to the round of 16 at home vs. Wisconsin, the team that Stanford upset in Madison last year in the quarterfinals. Stanford won in a thrilling 5 setter after trailing 2-0.

The winner advances to play the winner of Utah vs. Texas. Stanford knocked off Utah just last week in its only regular season match vs. the Utes. And of course the Cardinal beat Texas for the 2016 NC.
Stanford vs. Wisconsin set for 8 pm this Friday. Get out to Maples to support the team!!

Stanford currently in a battle with Wisconsin to advance to the Elite 8, and get a re-match with Texas (from last year's NC). Wisconsin hit extremely well in the first set (.593), but returned to a more normal number in the second (.278). However, it has been really tight throughout. Match tied a 1-set apiece at intermission.

Stanford takes crucial 3rd set to go up 2 sets to 1. Stanford has struggled pretty much the entire night defending with the block, but are gradually getting better as the match goes along. Offensively, the Card have put up a clinic.

All right now, as Card win 3 sets to 1. Stanford got better and better as the match went along. Wisconsin put up a valiant effort, but the offense for the Card was firing on all cylinders tonight.

Just set the DVR for 7pm Pacific Time for the Texas match. Also set for 5pm Pacific for the award show that shall not be named because it doesn't really stand for what they say it does...

Awesome game as we got so much tougher as the match progressed. Plummer awesome as usual and Hentz after missing a couple early and I have never seen that before was incredible

Live by the sword, die by the sword. It was mainly Laniers offense that got $C off to that 9-5 lead in Set 5. But I thought her passing from the back row was not that great when FL came back.
Penn St is rolling Mich St so 3 of the FF are now set.

Stanford battling back after Texas jumped all over the Cardinal in the early going. Stanford use back-to-back aces from Jenna Gray to take a 15-13 lead in Set #1.

Stanford much better defensively at the blocker positions tonight. They are not passing as well (have had to drag at least a couple of passes back from close to the net), but strong serving and off-speed shots powering Cardinal to 23-18 lead.

Morgan Hentz playing amazing defense, in one of those "water is wet" principles. Amazing how good of a player she is in only her sophomore season. Card lead 19-14 in Set 2.
