Go Navy! Beat Army!
Always good when the CIC is in play.
I hear snow is forecast. My wife and I went to the game in Philly our son's Youngster (3rd Class) year in 2013. They used a Zamboni at half time. I grew up in Colorado, ran XC in blizzard conditions, took survival training (a night out under the stars at -22 deg), but that Army-Navy game is as cold as I've ever been. Just sitting in a cold snow/sleet/rain for half a day including the March On. Knew when we had to de-ice our seats it would be fun. But really, it was so much fun. Bucket list stuff. People paid for our dinner and next morning's breakfast just because we had a super tired Mid with us. (They are getting ready for finals week at both Academies.)
Anyway, the uniform game is outstanding. Love the Navy Blue Angels tribute unis; really love the West Point tributes. A skiing panda!

This thing is passionate the way sports should be passionate. Trash talking during and hearty handshakes after. Here's a self-indulgent YouTube clip of the Sprint Football version, when Navy beat favored Army to win the CSFL title with an undefeated season in 2014. Skip to about 1:50 for former coach Major Lake's run-out speech. What you get from a combat Marine who played for Bobby Bowden at FSU. (Great man - retired in Monterey County now.)

This was my boy's best 3 hours ever in terms of pure happiness. (#20)
And here's a different type of hat ceremony from JTJR's senior season with Major Paulson as coach. Sprint recruited a five year old. It's long but cute and heartwarming. "Phenomenal" used a few times. I know a lot of those guys.

You think we run a lot? Army has three wins this year without a single pass!

My son played for Air Force and I think if Navy were playing North Korea he'd be in Kim Jong Un's corner.
Not sure why the Air Force types have this special dislike for Navy.
Anyway since Army hasn't won the CIC trophy since 1996 they are my sentimental favorites.

Because the Army doesn't fly attack jets. At least not manned ones.

Army has a Raymond Wright. I originally wondered how Reymound Wright still had eligibility left.

Actually, ours was Remound. (No "y")

Oh wow. Army two years in a row.
Otherwise I would have made the comparison (still will), Stanford is to Kal as Navy is to Army.
They even have the same joke about what does a Navy cadet/Stanford grad and Army cadet/Cal grad have in common?
