Ho Ho Ho - Redrum - 12-15-2017

On behalf of Cardboard supporters who really came through for us in our latest fundraiser, I am announcing a one-time funds distribution to the two people who do the most to keep the Cardboard alive and available:  Yvonne, the founder and Queen Mother, and CompSci87 (Tim Mann)who also takes care of things technical.  We have been able to offer small thank-you bonuses for Yvonne after previous fund raisers but those were also scaled to the size of the war chest available back then and these limited one-time gifts really cover years of service.  Not that big compared to this latest go-round.  At the start of this latest fundraiser I stated we would be open and accountable for your support donations.  After these distributions, we still will have approx. $1700 left for hosting fees and other costs that could arise.  I'll let you do the math on the size of the bonus unless they choose to reveal it. Of, course, you smart Stanford people can do the arithmetic and figure it out. With a nod of recognition to the God's of Chance, we should have enough to operate for a few years. If not, well, we'll be back atcha a little sooner than expected.  If mom and dad raised you right, you can chime in here with thanks or holiday good will for the people doing duty both up on the bridge and the engine room of this site.

I'd like to thank not only Yvonne and Tim, the builders of this house, but also all the rest of you, those who live in the rooms or stop by from time to time -- even those who stand on the front porch and yell at the kids who happen by. I think I've been reading this board for eight or nine years now, and I'm frequently surprised by how much it means to me and well I've gotten to know the different characters who appear here. So thanks, everyone. Thanks so much.

Goes for me, too, Hank. Perhaps what I enjoy the most--aside from the snappy wits--is being able to "follow" sports and teams I would not otherwise follow. WVB may not be as popular as football, but I find it extremely enjoyable to watch--though not so much last night.  :(

Thanks to Yvonne, Tim and everybody on this board.  It is truly an oasis in a sea of internet foolishness and political divisiveness.  It is usually the first and last place I check on my computer each day.  Happy Holidays to all and lets get together and have a drink in San Antonio.

Supremely well deserved. This site does more to stoke the fires of my love for my Alma Mater than all the SAA mailers combined. Thanks for all you all do for maintaining this site, a welcome refuge from the insanity of the modern world! Happy holidays!
