Shaw finalist for Dodd Award - TreesAndBirds - 12-15-2017

....which stresses academic excellence and character, as well as football success. Let's see if they stress the first two a bit more than the H-award stresses integrity.

I think you just answered your own question with that list of past winners...

I also note that the Pac 10/12 can only claim two winners right now (Wazzu and Colorado), which to me means... nothing, really. But I wanted to note it.  :P

I seriously question Ferentz winning the award over Shaw in 2015, given the way that Shaw smoked Ferentz in the Rose Bowl.

The vote was certainly completed prior to the smoking.  Iowa was one loss away from the CFB that year, so Ferentz was a good choice.
