Re: Going pro/coming back thread - Langdude - 12-26-2017

Never thought Okereke would go pro. He'd be a low draft pick, if at all.

Harrison Phillips was a pretty safe bet. The others to wonder about are Love, Schultz, Reid, and Meeks.

In addition, there will be some who will leave with eligibility remaining not to play in the NFL, but to transfer or to do something else in life: Tucker, Chryst, Fanaika, Alexander perhaps.

I am happy that Okereke is coming back. I was concerned about the ILB position at the beginning of this season, but Okereke really improved and was lights out in a couple of games (Notre Dame, Washington).

Not surprised about Phillips. I think Coach Reynolds has his work cut out for him next season.

It would be shocking for Love, Reid or Schultz to come back.  Hasn't Dalton gone through all of the senior last walk, last practice etc activities?  Meeks is the biggest and perhaps only question mark in my opinion. If he gets a late round grade, he will have a tough decision.

Although I don't think he will, I wouldn't find it particularly shocking if Love decided to stay another year and graduate with his class, especially given his career ambitions. After all that's what Luck did and Luck would probably have been a higher draft choice than Bryce will be.

Schultz is leaving.  He’ll announce publically after the game I believe

Love should leave.  Other than classes which he can make up the life of a running back is too short but the money awesome.    Hard to say this but it’s his life and he has zero left to prove.

Reid should stay unless he has a great bowl. Meeks is gone. Alexander should return. Watched Harrington all year. He will be capable and Smith will be AA. Will miss Schultz but not as much as Meeks. Phillips can't be replaced.

Re: Going pro/coming back thread - Duck Tears - 12-27-2017

Remember when defensive back was an annual position of need?  In this 2009-Current Golden Age, it's amazing to see

- A steady stream of guys reach the pros ahead of schedule: Terrence Brown, Alex Carter, Ed Reynolds, now Meeks.
- The remaining group NFL DB's/Cardinal alums form a distinguished list: MT3, Sherman, Bademosi, Howell, Jordan Richards

Who am I missing?

What indicators and logic do we have on why Meeks leaving us a fine deal?

Re: Going pro/coming back thread - Langdude - 12-27-2017

Personally, leaving out whether or not it would be good decision, I think that the tea leaves tell us that Phillips is the only "done deal," followed closely after by Schultz.
