Let's see: Nebraska did not go to a bowl game, so no extra organized workouts in December. Then had a coaching change that brought in a new Strength and Conditioning coaching staff, from the state of Florida.

Maybe there's a low Vitamin D link?

If anyone wondered whether the game has been increasing in physicality over the course of the last few decades, the rise of rhabdo complaints could be a sign.  Or maybe sports medicine is more aware of rhabdo now...?  Was this well-known 15-20 years ago by college sports trainers?  Did anyone care back then?

Coaches have to be smarter regarding human physiology.  I wonder if the team jumped straight into super-intense workouts from a prolonged break.
