Drew Terrell to the NFL... as a coach - ColoradoTree - 02-14-2018

After three years as a grad assistant, Drew is joining the Panthers as an offensive quality control coach: http://www.panthers.com/news/article-2/Panthers-add-offensive-quality-control-coach/47b9a7ed-927f-40da-accd-bf2f3ef1eda6

His pass to JR-P in the Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin will forever be seared into my brain.  I may have screamed a bit as it was happening.  Funny that for such a great receiver, none of his catches come to mind when I think of him, but the Rose Bowl pass was just too great and crowded out everything else.

Didn't he throw it to Andrew for the famous sideline pass? His greatest attribute, though, may have been his steel trap hands on punts. Never a doubt when he was back there.

Yep, that's exactly where I was going to go with this, too.  It was a wet and dreary Friday night.  My dad and I were hunkered under the overhang in row X, trying to stay dry.  Traffic, weather and the Friday rush-hour timing resulted in a fairly pathetic turnout at Stanford Stadium, despite it being a Conference Championship Game.  But the crowd was into it and Terrell's catch was MASSIVE for us.

That was a tense game, as I recall.  We expected to dominate the line of scrimmage the way we had done in our prior game against UCLA, but their guys came to play...

Playing us 6 days before helped.  Yes, I remember it a lot closer than I figured it would be.  Winning was a mix of relief and happiness to get to play in the Rose Bowl.

Since we are on the topic ...

That TD tied the game.
It wasn't quite as dramatic, but only a few moments later he provided the punt return that set up the winning field goal.

Two great back to back plays in a tough game ... that eventually led to Stanford's first Rose Bowl victory in 40 years.

Because I noticed his name on a list of people missing Tuesday's game due to Covid, Drew is now the WR coach for the WFT.

Congrats (?) to Drew Terrell on the opportunity and for being able to withstand the purportedly toxic environment on the WTF (sic).
