How is the rest of her game? Is there enough athleticism so she can hold her own on defense? I remember the last time I was worried that we may have landed a shooting specialist without a strong all-around game it turned out to be Karlie. One can only hope that Hannah's game evolves in the same direction.

I thought it might be women's water basketball. Those floating hoops can be tough to hit. . . .

Nevertheless, Jump made a name for herself.
Hannah made shot after shot in front of hundreds of college coaches and against the top defenders in the country, said Stars coach Kelly Sopak, also the head coach at East Bay power Miramonte. I can honestly say Im not sure I have coached or coached against a more prolific shooter than Hannah Jump. She is a once in a lifetime talent with a bright future.
According to Sopak, a short list of colleges to have expressed an interest in Jump include Stanford, Cal, Notre Dame, Washington, Tennessee, Arizona, USC, UCLA and Oregon.

Or maybe that Women's Water Balloon throwing is now a sport.
I've edited the subject in the OP now...
Anyway, we surely have recruited the world's greatest Jump shooter. ;)

Wow, she looks excellent on the video. Hits shots from all over, both catch-and-shoot and off the dribble. 3-pointers, midrange pullups, layups. She has good size and strength going to the basket. Has some assists on the video too.

She looks good on video and we certainly can use a reliable sharpshooter. I liked the variety of shots she was making. At 5'11" she has a little more height than some of our very short guards--just an inch shorter than Britt. All that I like, and as a local there is every reason to believe that she has been very, very, very carefully scouted by our coaches.
I wonder why ESPN/Olsen gives her such a mediocre rating (90, 3 stars, not in the top 60.) She is the #63 from Prospects Nation. Bonnie was 61, Karlie was 77--so sometimes the pure shooters get underrated and turn out quite well. But sometimes they don't. Jump's ranking would be somewhere between Brewer's and Wilson's when they were recruited.

Could be she's lower ranked because she's from a tiny school, Pinewood, with 300 total students in grades 7-12 as opposed to a perennial sports powerhouse like say Mater Dei with 2,100 students in grades 9-12. Means lesser competition and less exposure too, so could be a bit of an unknown quantity to ESPN.

Hmmm...her release point seems relatively low, but she gets it off quickly. And wow, can't argue with the results. What touch she has. And yes, not just a long-range bomber.

Rankings are more based on travel than HS play and Jump plays on Cal Stars one of the best in the country.  Same team as Ionescu snd McGuire before Jones and DeCosta this past spring and summer
Like at the rankings of the Samuelsons at Stanford and Tudor at Oregon state. Â

Super late to the game on this after a week of travel, but excited to hear about Jump. Her highlight reel was really promising, making shots from outside, inside, in transition, and in traffic. She also had a couple pretty assists from long range. It's always hard to tell with these "tapes" because who knows if that's how she is 20% of the time or 75% of the time, but I'm encouraged. I also don't think the difference between PN and ESPNW HoopGurlz says much at all - ESPN indicates she is top 100 but they are only identifying top 60 for now, which could be entirely consistent with her #63 PN ranking. Also, the ESPN evaluation from Olson is dated July 2014, yes, almost 4 years ago. So who knows if their ranking is based on that assessment, or what. I generally find there's a lot of shuffling until they settle on their Top 100 about a year ahead of the formal signing period. Indeed, I remember Wilson was at one point as high as, I think, #6 in the nation, but I think where she ultimately landed, at #42, was a more accurate position. On the men's team, Robbie Cartwright was at one point (i.e., when he committed) solidly in the Top 60, and he didn't even end up being ranked in the end. I would say that has panned out in terms of his performance on the team. I really only trust the final rankings, and even that, as BobK has noted, is subject to politics, etc.
Now, we just really need some height in our remaining three recruits. I'm hopeful that ESPNW listed Stanford as Amihere's top considering - that list is ordinarily in alphabetical order, so the fact that it's not here makes me hope ESPN knows something about her order of priority. We were previously in the running for Ramani Parker, but she committed a few weeks ago to Louisville. She's only ranked 58th, so that's not a brobdingnagian loss, but I haven't heard too much else about other plausible top bigs.
