Is football still being played at Stanford? - barrister7 - 04-06-2018

The dearth of any information and/or comments about Stanford football recently resembled the secrecy of Area 51.  I know it is purportedly spring time but, my gawd, there is a scrimmage in the morning on the Farm.  Is anyone else donning rain gear and venturing out in the am?  I have always thought that more could be gleaned from this particular scrimmage rather than the foo faw rah involved in the Spring Game.  Any hearty souls-----------will see you tomorrow.

I get the impression that the interest level of Cardboarders in Spring Ball this year has dwindled to just about zilch.
Reason presumably being that so many of the key contributors for the fall are not participating, for one reason or another (mostly injury).
It still would be fun to get some info on how the players who are out there seem to be doing.

Speak for yourself. I'm hungry for Spring practice insights. Would go to the practice if I could, but being in CT makes it tough.

Players I want to know about:

- Osiris St. Brown
- Gabe Reid
- DWP
- Ryan Johnson
- Bo Peek
- Andrew Pryts

No I am excited and interested. I also was wondering where the football talk was, I don’t know why it’s been quiet, even if many players won’t be participating. I mean, I don’t need to see Bryce play during the Spring.

For my part, and this may be crazy optimistic (or maybe people are superstititious about talking about their wildest hopes), but just two days ago I was checking out the website for the cfp championship game at Levi’s. For another month or so, you can enter a drawing to have a chance to buy tickets at face value. It’s a long shot doubly, but I entered (and so did my wife’s email/cell phone). I also learned about this website called cfp-rsvp, where you can buy dynamically market-priced options to purchase face-value tickets to the cfp championship game IF your team is in it (otherwise the option expires). Not surprisingly, bama is around $350 per ticket option, and Stanford is $19. Putting my money where my mouth is, I purchased options on 6 lower bowl tickets ($30 each). And I renewed my season tickets the first day.

So yes, fall, winter, summer, spring. I am thinking football and looking forward to the season. I will definitely be at the Cardinal White Scrimmage next weekend rain or shine (probably rain).

OK, I'll speak for myself. I am very interested in what is going on in spring ball, but like you I don't live close enough to campus to do much more than follow it on the internet. My comment was merely an attempt to explain why we have seen so little discussion of it on the Cardboard. If you have a better one, feel free to post it.
