SF Pro-Am play - Jskass - 06-30-2018

Attended today's 10 a.m. game in SF. Arrived late -- must not have been enough players on one team because Nadia and Jenna Brown on one team and the Hulls on the other team. The latter team was pretty short, so the twins often wound up defending the bigs -- Nadia and Drew Edelman (former USC then UCSB). A few observations:

1. Nadia played solidly - rebounds, offense including 3-pointers, getting down the court on offense quickly. Some blocks.
2. Hulls definitely like to shoot three pointers. Due to the lack of a roster, I'm not 100% sure which was which, though I noticed one of the two was a little sharper and more aggressive so I assume that was Lexie. They also played tough defense and are quick, especially considering their assignments. Will contribute particularly in 3 point land. Looked like they got tired in the third and fourth quarters so likely are adjusting to the faster pace of college ball.
3. Jenna Brown. I pick her to start by the end of her freshman year. Passes are as good as Marta's but she also is comfortable making her own offense. Major swagger and great ball handling. Notre Dame's loss is definitely our gain.

PS Anyone know how to get Dolly removed from under my name? I definitely cannot be or have been a Dolly.

I believe you can go to the User CP button at the top left and change just about anything you'd like.

User CP -> Edit Profile -> Custom User Title (right half of screen). (enter new user title to erase old one)

Hey Dolly smile great review thank you.
The Paye team has some players who had Frosh orientation at their school.  Don’t know how many.

I posted about a year ago.  First game I saw the Hull’s play I didn’t look st the roster and didn’t guess Lexie until the final couple of minutes.  They are both good

Thx JJJ for good advice.
Bobk, I'll never know if I'm right in my guess since there was no roster. All I know is that one of them had a 12 (my Lexie guess) and the other a 25. Smooth shooters.

BTW, love the Lisa Leslie ESPN interview in which she says that the one thing she'd do differently is she'd attend Stanford!

Lisa Leslie was admitted?!

RE: SF Pro-Am play - JJJ - 07-01-2018

Maybe she meant she should’ve applied? ???? (just a joke; I have no knowledge of what actually transpired!)

The wiki indicates that she was the #1 high school player her year and was widely recruited, and specifically mentions Stanford, Tennessee, and USC.  Tara and Pat both must have wanted her, but obviously the stories say nothing about admissions.  She stayed close to home and family. She was in college while we won our two national championships, which might have played into her remarks.

her remark seemed to be more oriented towards life after school (that proverbial 40 year decision phrase) but maybe she realized that at Stanford you CAN have it all!

I recall Lisa saying in her book that Tara was the best coach she'd ever had, too.
