Statistics Question - Hank 91 - 08-07-2018

Okay, I've spent much of my evening fruitlessly searching for what seems like should be an easily accessible statistic: average yards gained on first down. Does anyone know where this might be available? I can find it for NFL teams, but not the NCAA.

I cannot find that for you.

The closest I can find is on cfbstats.com.

There if you click on any team, you get a list of possible stats.
Both rushing offense and passing offense have a link for "situational stats" which give you info by down.
If you also look at numbers of passing and rushing attempts, you can put together a total yds/play on each down.
That would require you to do a little work, and to compare teams you'd have to step through each team individually.

I'll be interested to see if somebody has a better site to recommend.

Gold mine! I use that site all the time, but only for their ranked stats -- Most Yards Per Rush, stuff like that. I had never just clicked on a school name. This will give me what I need!
