Pretty good article about our band and the new things they’re doing (and the old).

SF Gate Article

Women’s VBall Coach Hambly invited the band’s drum major, manager, and director to speak at the chalk talk about the things they’re doing to engage and pump up the crowd to create a better game day experience.

Fantastic collection of photos accompanying the article. It's bittersweet to see Robby Beyers' name on many of them. He announced a few weeks ago that he has ALS. This will likely be the final season when he is able to photograph the Band.

As an outsider who has been reading about the Stanford Band for over 40 years...I really like what they do.

So imaginative and ballsy.  I love that combination.

In contrast, the Trojan band managed to wreck Avicii (Levels is now their new song for an opponent penalty) and Panic at the Disco (halftime show).  There is nothing I detest more than the Trojan Marching Band trying to be all edgy by playing popular music and picking such an awful arrangement that it is painful to hear.
