I think we all know the Monday chart may not be the Saturday chart. That said great that Hamilton and Toohill are on it

Yep. As much as the chart tells us anything, it seems like good news. Shaw has already made it rather clear that Weddington and Sarell wouldn't be back this soon.

RE: depth chart at Oregon - Hank 91 - 09-17-2018

Something about Shaw's tone when discussing Sarell's injury made me think we might not see him again this season. Again, this is only based on tone and body language. An added layer to this is the new redshirt rule. Let's say he isn't ready until November. There might be a temptation to hold him out and just play him twice more, thereby saving a year of eligibility.

Regarding the redshirt rule, did we "burn" any for the Davis game?  With the new rule, any reason not to throw a lot of true frosh into that game to give them some real experience?

According to the new rule, you can play in any four games and still retain your redshirt. Upon playing your fifth game, your shirt is burned. Because of that, we may see many different frosh play as we go through the year. As of yet, no shirts burned, though two are headed that way.

Yes.  I was guessing a knee injury, but not the ACL.  Maybe the MCL or meniscus.  Henry Anderson missed about 6 games with an MCL sprain in his last year IIRC.

I think the goal is to get well enough to play, and then see how much he’s needed before making the redshirt decision.  There will be plenty of opportunity next year with the RT spot opening up.

Does anyone know if Brandon Simmons is anywhere close?  We seem okay at Safety for now, but if our starters are injured, depth could be important.  I can imagine it’s hard for him to be out, as a 5th year player and captain.

What about Curtis Robinson?  I'm eager to see more people at the Party in the Backfield.

RE: depth chart at Oregon - Phogge - 09-18-2018

Simmons even more important on special teams. Best there is.

Extra confirmation on Love from Coach Shaw:

from the Mercury News: Stanford RB Bryce Love returning from injury for Oregon game
"Stanford running back Bryce Love will return to action Saturday against Oregon after missing a game last week with an undisclosed injury, head coach David Shaw said Tuesday.

"Bryce is great," Shaw said, responding to a question on the Pac-12 coaches teleconference. "He's ready to go and fired up for this weekend."
...
"The game against USC was a physical game and (Love) took a lot of shots," Shaw said. "It was good to get him a chance to recover."

According to Tom Fitz, Toohill is out for four weeks. Fox starts with Reid backing up both OLB positions. No word on Simmons.

On Robinson and Wedington length of inactivity may increase the chances that they are redshirted as both played as true frosh.

RE: depth chart at Oregon - Hurlburt88 - 09-19-2018

I just want to clarify:   The new four-game redshirt rule can apply to any player, not only freshmen.   Correct?

I thought Toohill was really playing well.  He does a good job of shedding blockers.  We'll miss him against ND.  4 weeks includes our bye, but the next game after that is ASU which is on Thurs night.

RE: depth chart at Oregon - All Right Now - 09-19-2018

When Toohill came out of the locker room on Saturday and back onto the sideline with ice on his forearm, he got someone's attention in the stands, gave a thumbs down, and then made a breaking motion with his hands as if snapping a stick.  Seemed like a clear indication that they believed his arm was broken.  I was surprised to see him on the depth chart, but this seems to confirm what he indicated at the time.

RE: depth chart at Oregon - OutsiderFan - 09-19-2018

Time for Gabe Reid to step up and take the opportunity to supplant Fox as the starter, then make it really hard for Toohill to regain that starting spot when he returns from injury. Reid seems to have some game wrecker ability.  Would be great to see it on Saturday.
