That is well written and a comprehensive review of the mental health risks and resources for Stanford athletes.  Brewer is a very courageous young woman who is working hard to save other athletes from the illness she has experienced.  It is certainly something that all fans should know about--there are many invisible sports injuries to athletes, and we all should insist that mental health protocols are every bit as sound as those for concussions or ACLs or any other injury.

Well said 81. A fine courageous young women. And a pleasure to talk to at the banquet

yes, well-written and compelling. thanks for posting.

maybe i missed something in the article, but in terms of resources, i thought she focused on in-house mental health treatment at caps/vaden, but neglected to mention that stanford students also have quite good mental health coverage for clinicians in the community through their cardinal care insurance. at least, i presume athletes on scholarship get cardinal care insurance as part of their scholarship package. feel free to let me know if i got that part wrong.
