On the upside, Kal lost in Memorial to Oregon - Redrum - 09-29-2018

42-24.  Bears never caved but were mostly toast by halftime.  Apparently their QB is the real deal passing and running. Given our sputtering of late, Big Game could be fraught.

If you call an 11/21, 128 yard, 1TD, 2 INT game “the real deal”.  He did run for 123 yards, so he could be dangerous to our defense.

Eh. I wasn't impressed with Cal's QB play. In a sense, we will get a preview of how we might match up against Cal (at least offensively) when we face Tyler Huntley and Utah next week (limited thrower, dangerous runner).

However, I continue to be impressed with the raw talent of Oregon (though their discipline and unforced errors still leave much to be desired), and I fully expect that our miraculous win over them in Eugene will look better and better as the season progresses.

The Bears appear to have a QB quandary.  Bowers started the season, was supplanted by Garbers, but it was McIlwain that got most of the playing time yesterday.  Not sure where that offense is headed.

Herbert also exposed the Bears' highly-touted D.  I still think our game with them will be a dog-fight, as they will be gunning for us after eight straight losses, and we have to play in their house.

Except for possibly OSU and UCLA (and maybe Washington in the wrong way) I think all of our remaining games will be dogfights.

Agreed. Cal has an excellent chance to beat us. I thought their LBs played pretty tough.

Actually, take away the two freebies Kal gave the Ducks (the pick six and the fumble recovery for the touchdown) and it's a close game.

Don't let this game fool you. Oregon is getting ready for UW, just like their first three games were getting ready for us. They were also shaking off the effects of a very difficult loss. They certainly were not "all in" this game.
Kal has a better defense than last year, at least to this point, but I would say their offense has not lived up to expectations (which were not that high anyway). They are alternating QBs and are still basically trying to figure out what they are. They may be much better by the time we play them, but right now they are not looking real strong.
