Take down the Utes - StanfordIndians1 - 10-01-2018

Not anything new.....but get ready for a low scoring, grind it out win.  The clock will move fast Saturday.  Utah will keep it close and in Salt Lake the coaches have received a ton of heat...major critcism from media to fans to twitter to everyone...for how ineffective Troy Taylors offense is.  In the Pac, Utah is ranked 1 in rushing defense, 1 pass efficincy defense, and 1 in total defense.  Ranked 2 and 3 in scoring defense and pass defense.  Same old story.  Ranked 10th in total offense and 11th is scoring offense.

This being said, all coaches came on radio last week and said they will live and die by run against wash st.  They did just that.  I expect the same this week.  They want to win 13-10. Run, control clock and no turnovers.  A page out of our playbook.  Expect an old school bloody knuckle run fest.  (they finally gave Moss their RB 30 carries last week).

Stack the box and make Huntley beat us.  He has digressed on his RPO game also.   He wont beat us with his arm IMO.

So my question is this:
Last year in SLC we had almost the same amount of yards passing and yards rushing (188 vs 196).  If you were DS, would you gameplan more toward the passing game/KJ this week to get the W....or the run game?   Which do you think we will have more yards this time passing or running and why?

RE: Take down the Utes - newguy - 10-01-2018

i would throw about 55% of the time, since our offensive line hasn't been run blocking too well.
i imagine Utah will stack the box, as most other teams have been doing.

I'll take anything above 50%
- If Love is out, they will have to pass
- If Love is in, they need to pass to set up the run
- They should pass more because the OL can pass block but can't run block

Stanford has passed more than on more than 50% of its snaps every game this year except $C (where it was 29 runs, 27 passes).

At least we know the coaching staff recognizes what works and what doesn't.  Utah has out-Stanforded Stanford a few times post-Harbaugh, and it seems to be working for them.
