wondering when we hear. as best i can tell, letters of intent are to be signed between nov 7-14. do i have that right?

RE: haley jones - Lorcan - 11-05-2018

Is it bad that I interpreted the lower case letters as a sign of resignation that she's going to Storrs?

All indications I've heard have pointed to her travelling east, but we'll just have to wait and see! Hopefully, she'll come and play with Brink and be a Belieber.

RE: haley jones - Jskass - 11-05-2018

I thought the UConn site said she has an official to Oregon this weekend. CT seems optimistic that she'll be in Storrs (along with Boston, then Bueckers '20 and Fudd '21). I am hoping she realizes before she chooses just how far from home CT is for four years, without parents attending games regularly.

Also I know KLS chose UConn for basketball reasons but I bet within a few years she realizes that she'd have been better off on the Farm. Where will that UConn degree take her if she continues to be injury prone and needs to do something outside of basketball (unless she's opting for coaching)?

LOI dates are NOV 14-21. Jones will be at Oregon this weekend.

RE: haley jones - TheFarm07 - 11-05-2018

I though Haley still had an official to Oregon this weekend? Or am I mis-remembering?

That she does. We'll just have to sit tight!

Yes, hope Haley is taking into account the full breadth of what Stanford offers a student athlete.  Some lessons from the women's volleyball team.  Being the #1 recruit in the country doesn't protect you from athletic career ending injuries (see Haley Hodson).  And a Stanford degree opens far more doors than UConn.  For example, Courtney Bowen (women's volleyball team) will be joining a private equity firm upon graduation.  UConn definitely wouldn't offer those opportunities.

isn't it candace parker who recently said that, if she knew then what she knows now about opportunities after basketball, she would have gone to stanford?

and thanks for noticing, lorcan; i write lower case in text, email, and social media in all situations. in this case i am mildly optimistic. i am guessing/hoping that tara passed on the fabulous charisma osborne because she has some confidence we will get haley.

I think that was Lisa Leslie ...nonetheless, yeah that 40-year thing is a tough proposition to beat.

Which leads me to the next point - for those who haven't done so already, please be sure to vote today!  :-)

Indeed. And such a sick burn of U$C in the process:
