Patrick Rodgers loses in a two-man playoff - CornFed - 11-18-2018

What a weekend for Patrick Rodgers!  He had the lowest two round weekend score IN THE HISTORY OF THE PGA!!!  (sorry, but caps seemed appropriate).  While he has still not won on tour and this was his third second place finish since he went pro, there were several aspects of this week's performance that should give him a lot of confidence.  Charles Howell III is a sympathetic figure as the winner, and he sank a 15-footer on the second playoff hole.  Rodgers played clutch at the end and truly shone.  The announcers had nothing but praise for him all afternoon and his putting was razor-sharp, which has not been his MO in the past.  He shot 61-62 on the par-70 layout on Saturday and Sunday.  He fought off Tour veteran, Webb Simpson, and the next great phenom, Cameron Champ, to get into the playoff.  Way to go Patrick!!!!!

great weekend for Rodgers, but nice comeback story for Charlie Threesticks.

PGA weekend record is 122 by Troy Matteson about 10 years ago.

Man, so close. If he had won, he would have earned a Masters invitation.

I missed it if they corrected their comments about the scoring record on the broadcast.  Any way you cut it, though, that is some great golf.  You'd think these folks were playing video golf.

Howell has been a quiet force on the Tour. Often close. Great moment when his son cried in his arms. Rodgers will get his win.

broadcasters missed as I could tell.  Matteson is a local guy -- that was the reason I knew about his weekend 61-61.
