Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - Langdude - 11-24-2018

Looks like Kaden Smith is out; I am surprised that his injury was that severe.

JJAW is starting.

grandmastreams, my go to for the Pac-12 network, appears to be down. Any streaming suggestions?

I'm using the Lorna one, but there are lots.

Stands look empty

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 11-24-2018

Stadium looks ONE-THIRD full (or 2/3 empty) from TV shots.  More on UCLA side.
I have seen more at High School champ games.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - Langdude - 11-24-2018

They showed Kaden on sideline in t-shirt. Dude looks like an offensive lineman. Wow.

At least it was a novel way to go 3-and-out on our opening drive. No run attempts.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - stupac2 - 11-24-2018

1/3 full sounds optimistic based on the shot of that FG... yikes.

Hopefully this drive goes a bit better. Oddly I'd like to see them run, UCLA's rush defense isn't good

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - Langdude - 11-24-2018

And now a novel way to not convert on 3rd-and-1. No run attempt.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - stupac2 - 11-24-2018

Why on earth would you call that pass if you're not going to go for it on 4th? This gameplan has seemed really strange so far.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - Hurlburt88 - 11-24-2018

strange feel to this game.  KJ doesn't seem accurate, and we are afraid to run (again).  Let's go D!

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - Langdude - 11-24-2018

First run attempt of the game for Stanford comes in first play of third drive; goes for 12.

Costello does NOT look good.

understatement of the day so far

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - Goose - 11-24-2018

When a Stanford team feels compelled to throw the ball on third and less than a yard, something is very wrong. We all know about the OL struggles, but come on, it is less than a yard! If we think we are that bad on the ground, everybody on the staff has to ask themselves what they are doing. I simply don't believe it.

And Toner in!  Takes away the excitement of the XP that we've seen previously.

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - PVTree - 11-24-2018

Great catch, great throw. Quadruple coverage?

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - Hurlburt88 - 11-24-2018

loved Irwin's return to set up this FG

RE: Stanford-UCLA Game Thread - BostonCard - 11-24-2018
