I wasn’t too worried when I heard about the opening at Utah State because I remembered that Anderson’s dream job was BYU. And just because Utah State is in the same state doesn’t make it a comparable gig.
Also I read that the coach BYU got last time was on the hot seat a year ago so I would imagine Anderson will just wait-and-see to see if something opens up there during the next few years, and taking a job at a place like Utah State could be detrimental to that plan.

Also, Andersen was HC @ Utah State prior to leaving for Wisconsin, and then to Beavers. Curious that the formerly jilted USU was willing to have another go with him after after his, shall we say 'atypical' manner of departure from the Beavers HC job.

FWIW, I was told that the coaches and assistants themselves read the following site to keep track of job openings, confirmed changes and rumors from "sources": http://footballscoop.com. I had never seen it, so I thought I'd pass it along.
Regarding Anderson, I'd guess that he's happy and therefore able to be picky, but also wasn't a hot-enough commodity at the moment for the positions that he'd find attractive (as BC suggested).
With the new recruiting timeline, I'm not sure when the FBS coaching carousel stops turning these days. Are we out of the woods and standing pat? With every passing day, it seems increasingly so...
