So far, Death by Mogambo for Huskies - Redrum - 01-01-2019

What a difference.  The best of our conference not covering themselves with glory.  Not being run out of the stadium but seemingly always a step short and gave up 21 pts in first half.

This game was over with minutes to go in the first half.

Shaw said that, had we somehow beaten ND, that the season may have turned out entirely differently. I'm not so sure about that. Other teams in the Pac were better than we were this season, and the best of them, UW, is getting soundly beaten.

I'm still, frankly, mystified as to what happened to our OL this year, but I think we should be pretty happy with our record and bowl win this season given how our team performed.

Is it just me, or does Browning seem to be no better than when he was a freshman?

Thinking the same thing Terry.

Agree.  He just hasn't developed.  Maybe it's the uni #3, but when he was a freshman he looked like the second coming of Joe Montana.

Now, perhaps, he will do well in baseball.  Because an NFL QB he ain't.

I must say, I'm impressed with UW's fight here in the fourth quarter.

Actually, I think his best year was his first year. If anything, he has gone downhill. He often suffered from "brainlock" in year two, and after that he also had accuracy problems.

He was terrific as a Sophomore. He was Pac-12 POY and I think was invited to the Ceremony in NY. Threw 43 TD passes.

He regressed from that point. Significantly.

Yes, but he pretty much personally lost the USC game in his Sophomore year (23-16) by throwing bonehead interceptions. He knew it too, and probably never recovered. That was the "brainlock" I referenced. After that, it was all downhill.

Actually he was better at Folsom High.

I can't say about Browning, but don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure you are better than when you were a freshman.

:-)

Yeah, statisticaly his best year was as a sophomore, and his senior year was hardly better than his freshman year.

FR: 233/369 (63.1%), 2955 yards, 8.0 ypa, 16 TD, 10 INT,  PER 139.30
SO: 243/391 (62.1%) 3430 yards, 8.8 ypa, 43 TD, 9 INT, PER 167.52
JR: 230/336 (68.5%) 2719 yards, 8.1 ypa, 19 TD, 5 INT, PER 152.10
SR: 217/334 (65.0%) 2879 yards, 8.6 ypa, 16 TD, 10 INT, PER 147.20

His sophomore year, he was very successful throwing TD's, and fairly efficient with high YPA.  His junior year, his completion percentage improved, but he got fewer yards out of them, and his TD's plummeted.  By his senior year, his touchdowns continued to fall, but his interceptions went up.  Ironically, he had the same number of touchdowns and interceptions his freshmen and senior years.
