Good news on ticket sales - yvonne - 07-21-2011

I'm sure that the 48-14 losers will find something to be jerks about, but it won't be ticket sales.

BTW, there's a part at the bottom just for Garvin.

Luck changes water into wine, walks on water

Then he changes it back into water...so he'll have something to walk on.

He's the most interesting quarterback in the world.

With apologies to Chuck Norris... - Mick - 07-23-2011

When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Andrew Luck.
Andrew Luck doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.
Andrew Luck does not sleep. He waits.
Andrew Luck is the reason why Waldo is hiding.
Andrew Luck counted to infinity - twice.
When Andrew Luck does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down.
Andrew Luck is so fast, he can run around the world and tackle another kal cornerback.
Andrew Luck' hand is the only hand that can beat a Royal Flush.
Andrew Luck can lead a horse to water AND make it drink

Comedy team of Mick&Lurck or is it Lurck& Mick - Redrum - 07-23-2011

Have there actually been legit comedy teams since the Smothers Brothers?

Two funny posts back-to-back.  Good day on the internet.

Shut up Redrum. OK, Okay, true confession: Mick Rules! - Ferris_Bueller - 07-23-2011

(As if this fool could in any way reach for those impossible expectations RR.. really!?  No waay, & thanksalot fella.)

Back to basics: everybody who is anybody in the business knows the straight man carries an act.

Ask my personal idol Tommie (with apologies to the literally immortal Maynard G Krebs), better yet after happy hour, and eventually he'd have to fess up.. brother Dick is the crucial element.

I like Mick, Mick's leading role rocks, #GoMick!

o-o  /* it means Over and Out */

Hid in plain sight personal message just for RR:  Duude, fixit, your personal handle icon ain't coming thru: http://usera.imagecave.com/garyclark/Croppedbugr.jpg

Smothers - Mick - 07-23-2011

My Dad used to go to Vegas once a year for a covnention.  He and two of his bodies went out to a Las Vegas golf course, and the fourth who joined them was Tom Smothers.  He rode in the golf cart with Dad...Dad said he was very funny, very entertaining.  The next day, they went to a different course, Smothers showed up again as their fourth.  Nice guys  Dickie Smothers' kid went to my high school, though was a lot younger than me

And when they were home, how did  you keep track of all of them?

Wasn't he Maynard G. Krebs?

Re: Good news on ticket sales - washingtonismoney - 07-24-2011

Y'all are dating yourselves quite accurately.

That was Bob Denver, later Gilligan.

I am old enough to remember Gilligan's Island (and the Smothers Brothers show) well, but Dobie Gillis was a little before my time.

Quote:"Maynard, people who butt in on other peoples conversions are not considered polite people"

For this preteen MGK was a definite role model, the slightly older and wiser brother I didn't have around to teach me the ways of the world.  Didn't consider, for decades, his character might be written as a parody.  Heck, without Maynard's lasting vision in the back of my head I couldn't have achieved his ideal lifestyle, lo, only 40 years later.

Last known feature w/Maynard linked below.  Best review: "not as bad as you'd expect"

RIP little buddy.

A direct form of Glenn's link is here, very slightly more convenient, hopefully:

I'd make some lame, patently insincere effort to restore this thread to the original topic, except, darnit, can't imagine a segue.

Josh Nunes kind of looks like Dobie Gillis.
