Generally fair assessment, except this:
Quote:The front seven certainly should be vulnerable to a successful rushing attack: despite returning plenty of pieces in the middle from 2018, the guys they are bringing back didn’t have much success.
Like, we bring back 0/2 ILB's and 1/2 safeties in the middle. On the other hand, many of the guys we are bringing back (Adebo, our OLB's, Booker) are on the outside and are pretty good!

Thought this was going to talk about Northwestern.
Any people informed about Northwestern on this board? I know they have a good LB in Paddy Fisher, and a good DL in Gaziano, and are breaking in a new QB who was once highly touted. That's pretty much it.
I'm not sure I would give NU the edge over Stanford at any position other than maybe ILB until I see the teams play each other.

Here's another article, this one from Northwestern Rivals focusing on Costello. (didn't require me to enter a login). I don't believe Fitzgerald has named a starter at QB. Their fans generally seem very confident about this game.

https://northwestern.rivals.com/news/costello-has-northwestern-s-attention

I think that assessment is VERY fair and justified. One of our two starting ILBs is only 225 - reminds me of Jordan Perez. Pryts had be a hell of a lot better at being in the right position, something Perez never got right often enough. And neither of our safeties is even 205.
NU's starting RB - aptly named Bowser LOL - is 215. He's a bit of a bruiser but not a 225lb bell cow. But he's big enough to give our defensive middle fits. Williams at NT is going to regularly have to eat up 2 linemen. If they can single-block him we are in big trouble - like Ron Dayne in the second half of the 2000 Rose Bowl kind of trouble.

I’m guessing we see the return of the rotation system at ILB this year. Hopefully not as drastic as the 6-man rotation of the past.
It would seem obvious that opponents would game plan to run up the middle until we stop them, but some teams may not have either the personnel or the scheme to do so.

Doesn't the "Superback" position sound like an H-back? We used Hewitt in that capacity some.

Yes, it sounds like H-back to me too.
