Of course we remember we were there. Old Herb disorganized as usual. Herb sent me to get a baseball. I came back ole Herb said sorry meant football
The good news is Phogge taught me the knuckle curve that day and years later I used it on a 2-2 count to strike out Shoeless Joe Jackson
Back to the story Stanford SID Dave Kiefer is a great writer and he will be writing more of these great stories

Bobbbbbbbbbb and Cy Young grew up together. Don’t remember if it was the pitcher or the javelin thrower.

I’m fairly sure that’s the first semi-random reference I’ve ever heard to Cy Young the javelin thrower

I know it’s a bit after your time, but here’s the next installment: the 1900’s (and, because football was on hiatus for 14 years, the 1910’s)

1916 I enlisted for Vietnam. What’s a Vietnam they said. I felt safe forever. Lol
Great story again by Dave. I miss him no longer the SID for Track and XC though. However I see why they want him writing more like this series.

My first memories of Bobbbbbb came at Seals Stadium in the RF bleachers. I think it was in the early Twenties. I had to rescue him from a brunch of kids from All Hallows Parish in the Bayview. We patched up his bloody nose and bought him a Gremlin. The next day we waited near the 16th Street entrance and beat the crap out of the Bayviewers.
