Since I think this was discussed when the case was ongoing, it is worth noting that the Judge in the Harvard admissions case found that Harvard’s program was constitutional.

It’s unfortunate that Affirmative Action and its various offshoots are essentially a zero-sum game. One group or another is always under-represented, depending on the metric.

Without trying to be partisan, it reminds me of the worst effects of “no child left behind,” which in allocating resources to helping lowest-performing students, stripped many programs focused on gifted and high-performers.

Harvard’s de facto quota of Asian-American admits will eventually crumble when those Asian-American alumni start to become bigtime donors.

Hah. Tweak a few sentences and that entire diss track would apply basically equally to our alma mater - among other things, 16% of Harvard undergraduates qualify for pell grants, compared to 13% at Stanford, so we're hardly the school of the 99%. Also, for everything but computer science prowess, C.al would eat our lunch on every single aspect of that diss, so I'd say those in Branner marbled-bathroomed two-room double housing shouldn't throw populist stones... ;)
