Are there any institutions without a sexual abuse scandal?

Quote:“Plain and simple: there are surface level reasons I was kicked off the Stanford swim team, but I can tell you with certainty that it comes down to the fact that I am gay,” DeVine wrote.
I don't know the facts of the matter, but by glossing over "surface level reasons" he hurts the credibility of his allegation. If the stated reasons for not inviting him back on the team are bogus, why not address them specifically and knock them down?

Intriguing situation. The comment section fills in a lot of missing pieces, but of course is all unverified. The Stanford coaches seem to be taking the appropriate course by not commenting in detail.

The comments are indeed enlightening, although you have to read through nearly all of them to get the full picture.
Couple of questions:
1. If Devine had been "invited back," would he have co-termed?
2. If Devine had been "invited back," would he have been training 1:1 with a Stanford coach, given that there exists no Stanford men's pro training group to mirror the Stanford women's pro training group?

Quote:Abrahm DeVine ’19, one of the few openly gay swimmers competing at an elite level, made national headlines when he said he was kicked off the Stanford men’s swimming team because he is gay.
“Plain and simple: there are surface level reasons I was kicked off the Stanford swim team, but I can tell you with certainty that it comes down to the fact that I am gay,” he wrote in a Monday Instagram post.
But while he stands by his Instagram statement, DeVine also told The Daily that his expulsion came after he drank at a Team USA swim meet instead of showing up to support his teammates who were competing, a violation of the National Team’s Honor Code.
“I think that I wrote this entire Instagram post where every sentence is very important, but the only one that people are really focusing on is me calling out Stanford, and that makes my message sound very aggressive and that I’m out for blood, when in reality that is not what I wanted at all,” DeVine said. “I’m here to just say this is a systemic issue.”

He wrote his statement in a way to get people focused on his calling out of Stanford--what did he expect? If he took the PWR requirement, I'd be embarrassed for his PWR instructor, who would surely have suggested a better way to write that statement.
