We can beat UW - donkey687 - 10-04-2019

I think Oregon has a better offense and defense than UW. If the Stanford defense can play as well as it did at home against Oregon and Northwestern, we have a shot. Better QB play than we had against Oregon and winning the turnover battle will allow us to win.

If the weenies can beat the dogs in their doghouse . . .

LOL lightning delayed that game almost 3 hrs so most of the dawg home crowd left.

And the weenies had their starting QB fully healthy.

But most importantly the weenies have an absolute stud ILB in Patterson.  Dude makes plays.

Who is Patterson?  Evan Weaver is Cal's stud ILB. Though he and his teammates performed poorly on defense against ASU.

I’m sure he meant weaver.

I post this having no clue if accepted to the Stanford grad school of his choice or not. And yes non acceptance certainly happens

So, our home game crowd will be about the same as the Husky crowd that actually watched Cal beat UW.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, sorry, meant Weaver. His worst game is better than what we are generally producing.

with all due respect donkey, the Huskies are just too strong for us.  we don't have a chance.

When was the last time Stanford beat a team to which they were a 16.5 point (or better) underdog?  2007?

RE: We can beat UW - yvonne - 10-06-2019

Keep in mind there have been many fewer times that Stanford has been a 16.5 point underdog.

Are you serious?  Hint: Tavita Pritchard was our QB.

I would guess sarcasm, but agree it might be a bit ambiguous.

RE:UW has the best D we face until ND - OL84 - 10-07-2019

Happy Randoms:

Per Pac-12.com, UW has better D stats than Cal or any other P-12 school that remains on the schedule.  Remarkable.

So many gratifying performances:

Even allowing for one game anomalies, the growth the competitiveness of the freshmen lineman is beyond any reasonable expectation.

Scarlett is making them look good by making the first man miss with his jab steps and decisive cuts.

Mills is showing his strength and confidence.

Wilson looks like he wants to given "the damn ball," and I love it.

KB Kelly looks like the big find frosh, and 11 looked more like himself.

The DL is stout as hoped.

Perhaps most hopefully, Robinson competed at a level he has never shown before, running downhill and reading like an ILB for the first time IMHO.

Finally, the pass game used quicker routes, hitches and quick screens (rather than the slow kind) to great effect).   Dare I say we looked like the better coached team?  Maybe everyone took a few weeks to rise above the adversity, and there is some hope of a better season ahead, despite the tough schedule.

UCLA is must win, the weakest team remaining in our bowl math.

Petersen admitted Stanford was the better coached team.
