Currently with three, Stanford sits next to last in the nation in rushing TDs this year. Only the Zips are below us with just two.

We also have the leading rusher in the P12 by some 80 yards over 2nd place. We just seem to be incapable of moving the ball on the ground inside the 10.

And our alum, Christian McCaffrey is leading the NFL in rushing (587 yards). I wonder if that has ever happened before, having the leading rusher in the NFL and the leading rusher in the pac 12?
BTW, the 49ers just won their 49th Monday Night Football game tonight, the most in the history of the MNF series. Dallas is next most with 47. Stadium that has hosted the most MNF games? Candlestink Park with 36.

Just guessing without thinking or researching deeply, I'd think maybe USC has pulled that off, perhaps while O.J. was in the league, or maybe later. Did Marcus Allen ever lead the NFL in rushing? I kind of think not.

I got real bored and did some searching. All I could find were season rushing leaders, not week-by-week.
The last time a team had the leading rusher in the NFL and their own conference (at the end of the season) was Florida in 1993: Emmitt Smith (Cowboys) led the NFL and Errict Rhett led the SEC in rushing.
The last time a PAC-10 team did it? USC indeed, but not who you'd think: Charles White (Rams) led the NFL and Steven Webster led the PAC-10 in 1987.

You have to get a push in short yardage and goal line. They don’t often get one. That explains a lot. I think.

I wonder if the Pac-12 has ever had a running back lead the lead in rushing, while the team is last in rushing touchdowns.

Makes me think of Steve Carlton. 27 wins in 1972, the Phillies only won 59 games overall. Steve won almost half.
