Lush is listed as 6-5, 240. I can’t believe he’s anywhere near seeing the field at OL.

Unfortunate news. Is it possible to recruit walk-on linemen this late in the season? Thank goodness for the bye this weekend.

TRISTAN SINCLAIR... can play both Guard and Tackle.
Put him in. Let him eat people.

You guys realize there is no mandate to play 5 OL. You just need to have seven guys on the Line of Scrimmage. You really don't even need any OL to be honest.
You could line up 10 receivers, with 7 on the LOS, 3 off, one QB, and send 5 out on pass patterns, with the defense not having any idea who would need to be covered. Necessity is the mother of invention, so maybe we'll see Stanford bust out some unconventional offensive sets?
Nah, I know it ain't happening, but it absolutely could.

Lots of good WRs and TEs, but mostly injured OL could mean:

I remember way back when in the summer, when Shaw was telling us how much more depth there was on the offensive line...

Yes, indeed. Shaw was right that freshmen brought a lot of depth that we didn't have last year. Who would have thunk that we could lose 4 starter level lineman (Little, Hamilton, Hattis, Powell) plus two reserves (Bragg and Pease) and still field a competitive offensive line against UW. At the beginning of the season, I wrote a summary of the season's prospects and said that losing more than 1 starting lineman could be catastrophic. I was wrong. There was a lot more depth with credible bodies to come in than I expected. Of course, that depth is now gone and our margin for error is close to zero. Stanford has had seasons in the Shaw era where we didn't lose any OL to injuries so in theory we can make it the next 6 games (or at least until Hamilton gets healthy) without losing another OL, but our current rate seems to be losing one starting OL every game. That can't continue.

Dumb question... does "for the next week or so" just mean this week, which happens to be a bye week?

Most likely. As we know, Shaw is very obtuse with his injury answers until they're essentially required.

Was there a specific hit on Mills that caused the injury or was it some wear and tear over the course of the game? We were at the game and we couldn't see why he came off until someone spotted him on the sideline with the ice on the back of his knee/upper calf. I haven't looked at the tape, but it was sad to see as he was having a great game.

I made this post earlier today on the game thread:
I'm embarrassed to say, but I'm replaying the UW game yet again. i hadn't noticed before and don't recall it being mentioned here, but Mills went into the medical tent right after Scarlett's touchdown w/ 6:00 left in the third quarter. West started warming up at that point, but when Mills came out, he took a few throws and went back into the game for the entire next possession. But when Kelly makes the interception w/ a little under 11 minutes left in the game, West takes over. In sum, I think I think they were just being cautious. Mills probably noticed something, but the fact that they left him in for a while suggests that he will be available for UCLA.
