This is the second time USC has poached an athletic director from UC. Mike McGee was hired by USC in 1984 after four years with UC.

Why did they feel they had to hire someone experienced and competent? There are probable several former USC football players they could have hired.

Exactly. OJ is so highly qualified to run their program. He has a keen understanding of USC-style ethics.

The fan base certainly seems to want Urban. My previous thread about this could be warming up. I can't imagine the new U$C president would allow the new AD to hire Urban, given his baggage and U$C's baggage. AFAIK, Urban hasn't said he is available to coach again, but that may not mean anything. This could get real interesting.
