FWIW, Bowl Projections after Week 10 -- Independence Bowl? - ADPinWDC - 11-03-2019

FWIW:  BOWL BIDS AFTER WEEK 10... Suddenly Stanford might get to SIX wins
I infer that Sporting News has Stanford beating COLO and WAST, but losing to KAL and NDAM, to get to 6-6 and a desparate bid for the Independence Bowl vs NCAR in beautiful Shreveport, LA. Kal (at 7-5?) gets the Sun Bowl; we have been there twice recently.
U$C gets the Holiday against MICH, and WASH lands in frigid Red Box against a BigTEN muggle.  Cheez-its pick nearby AZST vs IAST.
Holiday Bowl Committemen will covet Troyen travel money, so they grab em.
Somehow SNews have Oregon State in the Vegas Bowl -- but I think Vegas is more likely for Stanford, against BOIS.
Oregon beats UTAH in the Pac12 Champ game, and lands in Roses vs PNST instead of in a Playoff spot [OHST gets the CFP].
UTAH gets high-octane Baylor in the Alamo in what might be one of the better matchups on the board.
UCLA and KAL are on the bubble, depending on how they each do vs U$C and against each other. ZONA is tubed.

How can Cal be on the bubble at 7-5? Is Garbers coming back at all? Modster?

RE: FWIW, Bowl Projections after Week 10 -- Independence Bowl? - Spiny_Norman - 11-03-2019

The P12 teams that are not Utah and Oregon have season records of 5-3, 5-4, 5-4, 4-4, 4-4, 4-4, 4-4, 4-5, 4-5 and 3-6 (Colorado).

Honestly, throw a blanket over all of them. Some of them will get to 6 wins and be bowl eligible, but I don't think you can say with any confidence which teams will do so.

Modster is back, at least according to the Cal fan boards. Will he play instead of the freshman? Only Beau knows at this point. Cal also gets back some linemen and backs, so their offense should at least have a pulse. Garbers is a bit of an unknown. When he got hurt, his injury was "not season ending". However, there is no announced schedule for his return. It will not be next Saturday. That means it will be against USC at the earliest, if he can practice starting the week of 11/11. It may be he comes back against us. It also may be that his recovery is slower than anticipated and it will be season ending. IMHO, the only way he would come back just for UCLA would be if Cal needs one victory to become bowl eligible or already is. Otherwise, not worth the risk.

Cal is not making a bowl (barring Garbers somehow returning this season). Unfortunate for them, but even with Modster, the QB play has been terrible.
