MBB season opener vs Montana 7pm -

Game is on P12 Bay Area. Looks like the women have set quite the high bar. Good luck gentlemen!
Things I'm most interested in finding out, though I unfortunately won't be able to watch:
1. If the game will run through Tyrell Terry at the point, and what effect that has on Daejon Davis playing off-ball
2. Whether Oscar Da Silva will take the next step and become more consistent - we've seen him play one great game then become a non-factor the next
3. How much Jaiden Delaire has improved now that he's had a full summer in the system (remember he arrived on campus at the start of the school year, rather than over the summer like the other frosh, and missed all the practices/S&C therein)
4. If Isaac White has learned how to play defense, since we'll likely want him in as a catch-and-shoot 3pt specialist
5. How well Lukas Kisunas holds down the 5, or if Haase goes small more frequently (from limited knowledge/gleanings, I don't think Keenan Fitzmorris will be a factor)
Thoughts? Anyone going?

Well, I don't think the final score will be 92-27, but I expect Stanford to win by double digits. I am most interested in your point #1 re: Tyrell Terry and Davis.
Big picture, though, I think that Haase has exhausted his mulligans and we need this to be the year that the results improve and the team makes the NCAA tournament. I don't know how they will do this, but most years it seems that the Pac-12 has a "surprise" team that plays above pre-season expectations. The conference isn't terribly strong this year, so why not Stanford?

Besides everything mentioned above, I'm really excited to see if Bryce Wills can make the leap into being a productive players. He has terrific speed and athleticism, but can he keep it under control and improve his shooting? I was wondering the same thing about KZ Okpala going into last year, and he made a great leap. Wills has a lot of the same tools that Okapala did.

Because we have neither the players nor coaches needed for it to happen? I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect a bottom-half of a bad Pac-12 finish.

In case anyone needs to reacquaint themselves with the roster, I found these "Fast Five" pieces to be mildly useful.

I think we should keep our eye on Montana's coach for next year. There have been a couple of very successful coaches to come out of Montana and into the Pac-12. Haase is dead man walking.

Well... Travis DeCuire (Montana HC) is on the Mike Montgomery coaching tree (by way of Blaine Taylor, so there is that).

Also, DeCuire has experience in the Pac-12, having been an assistant at Cal.
And of course, DeCuire has been to the tourney, twice, which is once more than Haase.

Montana's never been a cakewalk, has it? Today included. We're up 2 at the half.

We are shooting well just not getting the shots with this dynamic offense

Has Stanford hoops ever beaten any team by double digits under Haase?

Davis has played more minutes than any other Cardinal, but has zero points and has only taken 3 shots. He has one rebound and 2 assists. What is his role?

Wondering if we should start Spencer Jones at the four and Da Silva at the five. Yeah, we'd probably get killed inside but Jones is a lot more valuable - so far, at least - than Kasunus.

Defense Marty with 5 steals. On offense don’t know but same role as the scrimmage
Hope he is able to get into the offensive flow more
That said shooting 60% second half

A win is a win, but that defense at the end was just terrible. Even if you're up by 20, never let a team roll off 13 points in a row.. I guess Haase is okay with that ?

Wow! Nothing on opening night for our men's basketball team. We beat them by 11 despite them closing the game with a 13-0 run.
I just caught the last 10 minutes of the game, but heard good things about both Jones and Terry in their debut. Oscar was aggressive and led the team with 21 points.
A good start.

Taking the art of the turtle straight out of Shaw's playbook, I assume.
Montana's starters stayed in the game while Haase put the bench (Herenton, Keefe, Fitzmorris) in with 2 minutes left. Montana scored 8 straight on our backups.
Hey, even with turtling, we beat the spread (9.5)!

The enthusiasm for MBB doesn’t seem to exactly be feverish. I’m curious to know WBB attendance vs. MBB for their home openers. Anyone know?

Attendance is typically in the official box score. Curiously I don't see anything for the mens game vs Montana.
Women vs Beijing 2083
Women vs USA National Team 4119
Women vs. EWU 2277
Men vs Montana unreported
2018-19 official attendance re:NCAA reporting
Women 3063
Men 3894
