According to this Reddit post, UMass has the worst defense in D1 history:
https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/dv30b7/umasss_defense_is_the_worst_in_division_1_history/?st=k2w666kt&sh=1f0e27cf
UMass's defense is dead last in the country in YPP, TDs allowed, scoring, and YPG, all by a mile.
Northwestern's offense is dead last in the country in YPP and offensive TDs, 2nd worst in scoring, and 4th worst in YPG.
The 2 teams play each other on Saturday, and it's my own personal Super Bowl. I'm very excited about it.
Oh, and Northwestern is favored by
39 points.

OMG. This is seven levels of awesome! Thanks for sharing. Surely it will be on the B1G Network, which unlike the Pac-12 Network, can be seen on most TV packages.
I thought UConn had the worst ever defense last year or year before. Or maybe that was just worst rush defense.

Yes, last year's UConn D was also historically horrendous. Check out the Reddit post, it actually goes into a comparison - the numbers are relatively similar, but last year's UConn team faced a schedule full of (relatively) quality opponents while this year's UMass team has one of the easiest in the nation.

Reminds me of the old joke about 2 working class teams facing off in the factory league playoffs. The score was tied when the 5 o’clock whistle blew and Team B ran off the field, as their shift was over. Six plays later, Team A recovered a fumble in the end zone to win it. ;)

Change the name to New Englan. There is no D there.

I thought you were talking about our offense and defense, respectively. Guess it could always be worse.

Northwestern won 45-6.
Exactly 39 points.
