Is it possible we are...underhyped? -

Yes, it seems like we're getting plenty of attention and are hyped enough. This is probably true. On the other hand, this roundtable on college football broadcasting features each participant's three picks for best TV game of the year:

I was pretty surprised not to see Oregon @ Stanford on this list. To be fair, they were clearly picking the most interesting/entertaining games of the year, and considering the subplots and what-have-you. To be fairer, this is kind of strange: Stanford/Oregon has been absurdly entertaining for three years straight, and there's a good chance it'll be a Number 1 versus Number 2 matchup, with the Musberger-Herbstreit combination that the roundtable justly praises earlier.
Probably complaining over nothing, but it's weird, no?

Sports Illustrated's college football preview issue picked Stanford-Oregon as the # 1 game of the season.

Media bias. They're looking for eyeballs, storylines, and dollar signs, not just the significance of the best teams. And who among those four really thinks Stanford is a college power worthy of "top three" games participation status anyway?

Trying to get all the BCS conferences in there as much as possible.
