WVB starting well... -

Opened up the match with a 6-1 run, let the Buffs close to 8-6, then rolled to a first set 25-14 win.
And then won the second set 25-5. Yes, that’s right, Colorado scored five points in the second set.
That’s nearly unheard of in the rally-scoring era, especially in a major conference.
Colorado hit zero through the first two sets, while Stanford hit .439.
The third set just underway, and Colorado already has 60% of their second set score.
Good start to the day.

After some chaos midway through the third set, when Hambly went to the bench and a 16-7 lead turned into 19-16, a serving run by Plummer featuring three consecutive aces pushed it back out, and a kill by Fidelak finished off the sweep, 25-18.
Stanford hitting cooled to .330, but the Buffs hit -.012 as a team. 10 blocks and 11 aces helped as well. Colorado was almost never in system, and Stanford just pounced on them.
Beyond the third set bobble, the only real issue I saw was that some of Gray’s slide sets were a bit low and tight, giving Colorado some blocks.
But that’s nit-picking.
Good start to the day!
