WVB upsets and us - amytarafan - 12-08-2019
The biggest upsets in the tournament have occurred in our regional: Utah beat #14 BYU in 3 sets at BYU (but BYU and Utah are big rivals; I think their Big Game is called the Civil War), and Cincy beat #6 Pitt. So we and Penn State are the only seeded teams in Maples next weekend. We will have to beat the Utes to get to, most likely, Penn State. And Utah has won 3 sets from us over 2 matches, so they will not be easy. But still ...

Utah-BYU is the Holy War. The Civil War is the rivalry between Oregon and Oregon State.
Utah had a tough time getting past Illinois in the first round but then swept BYU in the second. They can certainly be very dangerous.
