No better city in America to coach in. Perennial power in 1AA or whatever they call it now. On the beautiful Central Coast with some great restaurants and a small town college feel.

There is hope! Tavita's offense was better than only one other offense in the Pac-12: Baldwin's. Maybe someone will hire him, too. . . .

I wasn't not nearly as down on Baldwin as Cal fans seemingly universally were. I saw a team with limited OL talent and skill position talent no matter what the offense was trying to do. I actually thought it did a good job mixing things up. But the reality also is Cal was better when Garbers was playing this year. Wilcox wants to play an offensive system that compliments his defense, so I'm not so sure whoever Cal gets as its new OC will make Cal's offense that much better. The improvement will come with better players.
As much as I don't like Stanford's offense and game management, I also recognize that it's virtually impossible to be efficient on offense with three True Frosh playing and QBs going in and out of the lineup on top of that. Cal and Stanford both had similar issues on offense as a result of OL and QB injuries this year. Cal's weren't quite as bad and Cal won three more games as a result.

Difference was that Cal had a defense its offense could complement.

I was born in SLO and my dad graduated from Cal Poly. Home of the amazing Madonna Inn. It is a nice small town. They used to have a great wrestling program.
