NCAA rules - Phogge - 12-18-2019

On the thread now closed “Rules, etc” if I see a friend’s grandson ninth grader playing eight man football at Tomales HS that I can’t talk to the kid about colleges including one I attended?

If so this is a ridiculous rule.

I'm sure there are plenty of ridiculous NCAA rules.......

regarding potential recruits and your example see the last line, and this is if you are a "booster" if not......

Quote:What are examples of permissible activities?

Even though there are many rules prohibiting your involvement with prospects and the recruiting process, as a booster, you may:
  • Notify university coaching staff members about noteworthy prospects in the area.
  • Attend high school or two-year college athletic contests or other events where prospects may compete, provided no contact occurs.
  • Continue existing friendships.

OK Eric, missed that one. Senior moment. That’s becoming a continuing excuse. I wonder if it works on traffic cops.
