Recruits at the All American Bowl game -
Hulk01 - 01-05-2020
Per Rivals article declaring the three "winning" college teams in yesterday's high school All American game:
"Stanford had a down year on the field in 2019 but it appears as if help is on the way for the Cardinal if Saturday’s game was any indication. Running back signee
Casey Filkins was the only running back to score a touchdown in the game
(looks like he has some quick change of direction), his future lead blocker, five-star tackle
Myles Hinton answered any questions about his status as an elite prospect and
Ayden Hector
also flashed as a playmaker. (
Scored on a 95-plus yard fumble return)
"As the Cardinal brand resonates with prospects across the country much more than it did a decade ago, it should come as a surprise
(sic?) to see so many elite talents making their was to Palo Alto."

John Humphries was there but not suited up. So Hector, Filkins, Hinton, and Humphries were Stanford reps at the Army game. It's fair to say Humphries would have probably made an impact if he did play.
I'm really surprised Alabama commit QB Bryce Young is only 180 pounds. I never imagined I would see the day Nick Saban would want a 180 pound QB. The game has really changed a lot. There is no doubting there is now a premium on athleticism over size at the QB position. Of course, ideally you want both, but the "prototypical 6-5 230 pound QB" is a thing of the past unless he can run like Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence, or Tanner McKee. Otherwise, it's give me Russell Wilson or Kyler Murray instead.

Yeah I was wondering why Humphries wasn't in this game.
Didn't realize he had been selected but didn't play.
Wonder if he is still feeling the effects of the wrist injury he suffered in the playoff semifinals.
He played in the final game so it couldn't have been too serious.
BTW as I posted elsewhere E.J. Smith and Josh Karty played in the Under Armour All Star Game.
Smith reportedly played well, but I couldn't find any specific statistics.
Karty attempted two field goals. Made one from 45 and missed one (wide) from 54.

Given his dad played at Stanford and sister won an NCAA title and mom was a four time All American at Stanford let’s go with Humphreys. :)

DJ Uukelele is 6'5 250 pounds. He shrugs off D lineman like gnats. Going to Clemson.

Better Clemson than SC or Oregon, his other finalists.
