I'm probably in the minority, but watching it right now. Plenty of kids from New Orleans in the game. Their second string QB is a family friend.

not the NCAA but ESPN, as long as ESPN makes money on the "minor" bowl games they will keep happening.
I'm with you on having a "minor" bowl after late Dec.....and certainly not after 01 Jan

This game is getting much better ratings and has more people paying attention to it because it is tonight with no other football games as competition. Monday night is normally a big football night. This is a genius move by the Lending Tree Bowl. I can't imagine a less inspiring game or matchup that is actually getting some people talking about it on a message board.

Not a big fan of the proliferation of bowl games that few people care about, but I don't think this was any worse than some. At least the two teams in it weren't 6-6 teams.
If someone wants to sponsor these games and teams want to play in them, who am I to object? No skin off my nose and I don't have to watch them.
Besides, if you are a TV junkie, they are probably just as good as the 10th rerun of some mediocre movie.

Thanks CardCrimson. He didn't get in, but I'm sure he's pleased with the result. He gave up a lot of holiday break time for practice.
