I wonder why Lexie got the defensive award rather than Lacie.

It is sad not to see Carrington or Jones up there.  I'm sure they both would have been.

Lexie plays 30 minutes a game, Lacie 20.

Interesting that she was not eligible for the coach's "6th player of the year" award because she started one too many conference games. The media did not have that restriction.

That is nice to see Prechtel get something.  She certainly played well enough to deserve recognition of some kind.

They should have a "hard luck" award given to the best player who played long enough to consume eligibility but then suffered a season ending injury.  Seems to me that it would come down to Kennedy Brown vs. Haley Jones, and no doubt Jones would win it.

While we are fantasizing about awards, a "comeback kid" award for the best player coming back from an injury that took them out of half a year's games, at least.  Again, it would be between Oregon State's Kat Tudor and our Nadia Fingall.  This one would be a closer call.

Would have to give that comeback award to Fingall. Fingall has performed closer to her pre-surgery form than Tudor this season. I have been impressed with Fingall's defensive intensity this year, especially in light of any lateral mobility concerns following her rehab.
