Because TCU lost to Baylor last week, Stanford now has the second-largest winning streak in FBS football. Auburn has won 16 games in a row; Stanford is second with 9 in a row.

If Utah State had recovered that fourth-quarter onside kick last week against Auburn, Stanford would have the nation's longest winning streak.

Looking ahead, Auburn is a seven-point underdog Saturday against #20 Mississippi State. So by the time the second quarter starts Saturday at Duke, the chances look pretty good that Stanford will have moved into the lead.

Stanford's 9 game winning streak is its longest in 60 years. Stanford also had a 9 game winning streak in 1951.
