We're leading Kentucky 8-0 in San Antonio right now on CBS Sports Network. Art Lee has all 8 points. Oh, ... it's 1998...

I had forgotten just how good a point guard he was. Of course, Madsen was no slouch, either.
I'd also forgotten how annoying Billy Packer is...

Arthur Lee was the best point guard in the tournament that year - what he did was as impressive as anything Brevin did in his tournaments, and that's saying something. He was also among the top point guards in the country as a senior. I'd put him and Chris Hernandez as a virtual tie for second best point guard in Stanford history - a true All-American talent.

Not lately but Art played overseas from his graduation for 13 years

Bill Russell was my favorite player. KC Jones second. Arthur was a very close third.

Watched the semi-final vs. aTm. Wow! We were so loaded and just blew a 10 point lead with all the turnovers and some missed free throws. It was painful to watch. The one I recall the most was vs. LSU and Simone Augustus. That call at the end was atrocious.
We are so due for another championship! I think we have a good shot next year.

I still have nightmares about the end. As my senior citizen memory recalls, at that time, the rule on balls going out of bounds used the alternate arrow machine. The Cardinal had stormed back and all the momentum was on them. out of bounds play, arrow points to Ky, and essentially game over.

If I hadn't already learned to despise that rule, I learned to at that moment. Utterly lame ass rule! I don't know why the rule doesn't allow for the players to wrestle for the ball for a second or two before calling a jump ball. Had they allowed even a split second longer, Jarron would have almost certainly wrestled it from the much smaller player.
