Thanks Bobk.
Quote:Tufuga, a 6-1 setter, was a standout at Costa Mesa High School. A multi-sport athlete, she also lettered in basketball, softball, water polo and golf.
Along with volleyball, all in the same year?!

Looks like the volleyball magazine rankings come out over the summer (volleymag's 2019 rankings came out in June:
https://volleyballmag.com/2019-ncaa-womens-recruiting-rankings/)
My search did reveal this interesting piece:
https://www.ncaa.com/news/volleyball-women/article/2019-12-23/way-too-early-power-10-rankings-2020-ncaa-womens
Given the players that we've graduated, to be ranked second in the "way too early" rankings is massive respect for the program. Kipp and McClure are a very solid nucleus, but that's a lot of firepower to replace.
... if there even is a volleyball season.

John Tawa is now twitter only and not with Prep Volleyball. He has tweeted his class rankings with Stanford in the 6-10 range. We have 3 scholarship players in this class.
For 2021 we have two openings.
For this coming year remember we have lost 8 players.
However our Frosh and soph classes will have 4 top 5 ranked players from HS. Nice to build with that

"massive respect" is right. We return one proven outside hitter, one proven middle, and one proven defensive specialist; plus two rising sophomores (Kipp and Berty) who showed some good things but were not consistent. Second place is putting a lot of faith in the quality of our players, recruits and coaches!

Did Sidney Wilson graduate early?

don't know but she's not on the roster for next season

Volleytalk seems to indicate that she’s done with Volleyball. Sydney appears to be trying out for Stanford Lacrosse and Archery next year. Unsure of how accurate those rumours are. Also notice that M. Keefe isn’t there anymore either.

At one point eariler this year Wilson has a great internship lined up for more than just the summer
More on the Keefe’s

Wilson had said sometime after end of season she wouldn't be playing volleyball her senior year. she has an internship as BobK mentioned this summer, with Goldman-Sachs

Anyone know if we are recruiting the youngest Keefe?

Yes we are of course. She’s a Keefe. In the latest player ranking for her class, 2022 she wasn’t in the top 79 but was in the next 79.
We have two openings for the next class hopefully Miner and Francis. Then just two Scholie openings for 2022. So maybe a walk on

Is there any talk about shifting the volleyball schedule the way some are imagining football in the spring?

Sam Francis, Kami Miner and see the All State Soph selection of Kerry Keefe.
Yes BC although Francis could also be a pin player.
And Duke commit Millie Muir among the Sophs. Yes Bernard's daughter.
Scheduling remains to be seen. Like so much.

Is she LDS? How would she get offers before ever playing HS volleyball?
RE: Women's Volleyball frosh class announced -
BobK - 04-29-2020
Softball just had the rules changed several months ago that an offer cannot be made before May 15 of the athlete’s soph year.
Florida State has two commits that were in the 7th grade when They committed before the rule change
Heck Stanford baseball has a 2023 commit and Stanford softball has a 2021 commit now for 2 years.
Hmm time for a new tread
