Cool, he seems happy and enjoying life.

Wow, I totally missed this.  Mitch looks like he's doing well!

Good for him. It takes a lot of courage to do what he's doing. I hope he gets all the support he deserves.

i've posted before that mitch's performance in the summer league at kezar before freshman year was one of the best i have ever seen - so confident  & athletic, sinking basket after basket in traffic from all over the court. such hops!  and then i was surprised and disappointed that his play at stanford never matched that level - instead looking a bit lost and awkward. the interview describes injuries plus a complete lack of acceptance from family. i would guess it's hard to play to potential under that pall. and that it's nice now to have the support of a spouse.

What a wonderful picture. Thanks so much for posting this.

As for your comment re his (then her) play at Kezar and Stanford, it very much mirrors my own thoughts about this. I'm very sensitive to his situation because I have a transgender male cousin. For him, he was much luckier with his family than Mitch appears to have been. Both his parents struggled at first with his situation, but then, while he was still in high school, they became fully supportive. This was also true of nearly all his extended family as far as I know, probably in large part because his parents were behind him.  I feel for Mitch, not apparently having had this.

I am proud to be part of a community that shows dignity and respect for athletes that are struggling with issues that were simply not discussed in another era. Mitch has shown courage in negotiating a difficult inner path of coming to grips with a condition of birth that was had little precedence, and negotiating a hostile outer path that posed difficult challenges and had little support.

I wish him all the best in life!

Ncely said Baez, so agree. Best to Mitch.

Happened to catch the episode and was very impressed. One of my favorite players; and wish him nothing but the best.

I watched Mitch's episode last night. It's worth seeing to hear what he says about getting to where he is. I saw it on comcast. You can do a search with the remote to find it -- search for Titan Games. Then it's episode 5 (june 26)

One of my favorite players too. I know it has been a big deal to have Fran Belibi dunk but Michelle could dunk too.

Really liked her, as she was then. Not only dunk, but also 3 point shooting. But now I have even more respect for her, now him. It has been a really difficult journey, but he appears to  be finding his true self. Good for you, Mitch.
