Gabe Kapler’s former Phillies team and his current Giants team are the two wild card teams in the NL as of today, both tied 24-24.
What conclusions can be drawn should they face each other? And does anything change depending on which team prevails for the right to get slaughtered by the Dodgers?

Conclusion? You never know.

Who cares.
However 17 Ks by the Giants pitching staff could be a team record

And Bobbbbbbbbb, what is the record for Giant's K's in a game by one opponent pitcher? Who, what year and who hit a monster homer off him? How did the game end?
And, I was there. Hint: Not in San Francisco.

IIRC Koufax fanned 18 Giants down in LA. Pretty early on, before he no-hit them.

Hard to reach any conclusion in this weird short year. 60 games in a real season is still relatively early. It’s definitely a plus, however, for the Giants to be playing pressure games down the stretch. We’ll see how they do. I believe there are 12 games left - all in the Bar Area nine at Oracle (today’s game vs Seattle, four against Colorado and four against San Diego) and three at Oakland. I think the Reds are the team closest on their heels. Due in part to the fact that they just took six out of seven from the hapless Pirates. But the Reds schedule gets much tougher from here on out.
I think if the Giants go seven and five they’re in. Six and six they’re probably in. Not an easy task given the opposition

Of the four teams, the Giants do well against Seattle (3-0 this year). They don't match up well against Colorado (2-4), San Diego (1-5) or Oakland (0-3) . The Bay Area locale should really help. But I'm not sanguine right now.

Good job Q. We were sitting down the line in RF. The fence was a mile from the plate and McCovey obliterated the pitch. However LF was 250’ from the plate and Wally Moon hit one of his bloop “Moon Shots” to walk off with the win. Koufax was magnificent. We had box seats from Fox. Way before Murdock.
